Fall (Autumn) Lookbook

Hello beauties!

I was in Croatia past week, running some errands, and while I was there, I managed to film my daily outfits, that now I put together in a short Fall LookBook video :)

You can watch my video here:

I have prepared three outfits, they're all based on the military theme/ trend, that I personally love and wear a lot this season!
However, I do mix it with other, more girly items, such as sequin shorts, dresses, and high waisted skirts...

Outfit # 1

Military style parka: Zara
Dress: H&M
Necklace: Zara
Sunglasses: H&M
Boots: Zara
Bag: Bought in Italy, past Fall season
Bracelets: Soufeel, Bijou Brigitte, Stradivarius, Accessorize
My silver & gold rings, rose gold watch (Fossil)

Outfit # 2

Necklace was my Mum's
She bought it in the late '80., early '90.

Belt is from H&M
Leopard print nail art tutorial is coming soon! :)

High waisted faux leather skirt: Stradivarius
Shirt: Sisley
Knitted vest: Italian open market
Ballet flats: Bought in Italy, (old)

Outfit # 3

Green parka: Zara
Grey shirt: Pull & Bear
Sequin shorts: Stradivarius
Suede like booties: Pull & Bear

(The pics of the third outfit were taken just after my visit to the hairdresser's, can't you tell? ;)
I went a bit blonder this time, but it's just a slight change, that I felt like doing, as I got a bit bored of my ombre hair...)

I hope you liked this lookbook!
Make sure to let me know which one of these outfits do you like best!

A big kisss from Italy,
xoxo S.

Fall OOTD Inspiration: Poncho, Peggings, Military Style Boots ♥

Hello girls!

This has been the most beautiful Fall since I can remember! Warm & sunny, not too cold, just as I like it :)
I went to Croatia the other day, it was just a quick visit to my family.
As the 01.November. we celebrate the Day of the Dead, my family always goes to light candles & bring the flowers to our beloved ones who are no longer with us.
That's why I really wanted to be in Croatia on that day.
My hubby & I took this short trip on Sunday, 30. October, and this is what I was wearing for my trip:

The colour of my purse matches the colour of the nature in the Fall season!

Poncho: Bought in Croatia, years ago.
Peggings: Italian Open Market
Grey V-neck sweater: H&M (L.O.G.G.)
Basic black tank top: Jennifer

Doxa vintage watch that belonged to my Grandfather.
Random selection of bracelets from 1€uro store.
Thrifted snakeskin print belt.
Long feather necklace: H&M (divided)

"Hermes Style" red bag: Italian open market
Military Style boots: "Imaty's Fashion Factory" boutique in Italy.

I have decided to wear my green poncho, that I bought some time ago in Croatia (I'm pretty sure it was while I was still living there!).
I rarely wear ponchos, not because I don't like them, because I do, but because the weather here is usually or too warm, or too cold to be wearing them!
There just wasn't that nice transitional period of time (summer-into-fall, fall-into-winter and so on...) for such a long time!
I really missed that!
For the longest time, the seasons were basically changing in a way that you had to "jump" from wearing a short sleeves, to a wool coat and vice versa! No good :(
And as far as poncho goes, it is a clothing item that definitely adds volume, so it never looks good when I try to wear a coat on top of it! It just looks and feels too bulky!
Wouldn't you agree with me on that?
Now, the question of the day was:  "To belt a poncho, or not to belt a poncho?" ;)
I add a thin, snakeskin print belt on top of my poncho and I actually liked it better that way, than without a belt.
My hubby, however had a different opinion, he thinks belted poncho doesn't look good!
I still wore it belted, haha!
;)
But I'd like to hear your opinion on this!
Was belting a poncho a good idea?

Have a beautiful day, ♥ from Italy,
xx Sonja

TOP Fall 2011. Fashion Trends!

Hello girls!

After the first September rain has fallen here in Italy, finally I  have found an inspiration to put a fall fashion video together for you guys!
I know it's been highly requested, so here it is, and thank you all very much for your patience!
I was going through the italian fashion magazines, "TU Style" in particular, and here is what I have noticed as a major trends for the incoming fall season:

Most of these trends were already present past season, so before hitting the stores & buying new stuff, check out your wardrobes to see what do you already have and make a list of things that you need to buy to re-style a bit your fall look!

Which is your favourite trend out of these 8 trends that I've talked about?
I couldn't pick out one, but among my favourites certainly are: Military Allure, Animalier Glam and Soft Knitwear.
& Sparkly! for the special events ;)

Make sure to check out my video where I talk more in depth about these new trends & I'm showing you some key pieces that I already had in my wardrobe:

More pre- fall inspired outfits coming soon!

Ciao, Ciao!

<3 Sonja

Sunny Sunday& Venice Carnival (Una Domenica di Sole& Il Carnevale di Venezia)

Hello girls/Ciao ragazze!

How did you spend this Sunday? I hope everybody had an amazing day!
Today it was nice& sunny weather here in Italy so we went to see the famous Venice carnival.
There were so many people there I can't even describe it with words!
At some point we were standing still among the crowd, trying to go forward, but not being able to move as there were just too many people, it was incredible and even a bit scary.
I don't enjoy being squeezed among a crowd of people!

The good thing about today's day was that we spent it with our friends, walking a lot around Venice and...
my little Lush& MAC haul! :)
But I'm not going to share my haul with you in this blog post, there'll be another chance to do so!
I know you're curious to see what did I get, but you'll have to be patient a bit more (I have to take the pics& all...)
Besides, it's just a small haul anyways, as MAC is so expensive here in Italy (I got only two products, and I paid 54€!!!That's just too much!)

Davvero troppo!)

Now I'll leave you with some OOTD pics& just a few pics from Venice (I went to Venice so many times, I'm not even taking pics when I'm there anymore). But for you guys and my blog, I made an exception& made a few :)

Ready to take off to Venice :)
Pronta per la partenza :)

It was still quite cold, so warm clothes were a must!
Fa ancora abbastanza freddo, quindi i vestiti caldi sono d'obbligo!

No heels as in Venice I always walk a lot!

Here is what I was wearing today:

  • Army sweather 100% wool: It's an authentic army sweather, my Mum wore this when she was in the military as a doctor during the war in Croatia.
  • Grey scarf: H&M
  • Necklace: Bijou Brigitte
  • Belt: Jennifer
  • Hat: a local boutique in Italy
  • Jeans baggy fit: Pull& Bear
  • Purse: Kathy Van Zeeland
  • Brown legwarmers: a small boutique in Croatia
  • Chocolate brown Ugg boots (model mini)

  • Sciarpa grigia: H&M
  • Collana: Bijou Brigitte
  • Cintura: Jennifer
  • Berretto: Negozio locale in Italia
  • Jeans baggy fit: Pull & Bear
  • Borsa: Kathy Van Zeeland
  • Scaldamuscoli: Negozietto in Croazia
  • Stivali Ugg, modello mini

A few pics from Venice:
Alcune foto da Venezia:

Me in Venice :)
Io a Venezia :)

Just one from many interesting costumes!
Una delle maschere molto caratteristiche!

Walking through the streets of Venice...
Camminando sulle calli di Venezia...
A big kiss/un grande bacio

xoxo Sonja
