Sun Goddess Sunless Tanning Lotion Review & Giveaway! (OPEN)

Hello beauties!

I have prepared a product review for you today!
As Summer is getting closer, I felt like trying out the Sun Goddess sunless tanning lotion, and to work on my tan before going to the beach for the first time this year!

I'm very pale skin, so I do need a bit of a tan if I want to wear shorts, skirts and just more revealing clothes...don't get me wrong, I love & embrace my pale skin, but I do think I look a bit better with a hint of a nice tan & summer glowy skin!

I don't like to go to sun beds because they can cause premature aging of the skin (and I'd rather be pale, than look old!), and, I love the sun, but I hate sun bathing during the hottest hours of the day(I usually go to the beach in the afternoon hours, to avoid the harmful UV rays!)

That's why, over the years, I have become a true expert in sunless tanning and I have tried so many products, from high-end, to drugstore brands!

I was very happy when Sun Goddess company approached me and asked me to try out their sunless tanning lotion and share my review with you guys!
I waited for the warmer weather to arrive, to try out the product on my skin; even though I've had the lotion for a few months now, I just tried it out recently, because in Italy, we've had such a bad weather, I just didn't see the point in developing a tan, only to later cover it with layers & layers of clothes!

So here is my review of the Sun Goddess sunless tanning lotion:

(click on the play button above to watch my review video)

The container holds 236ml/8 fl.oz.

The Sun Goddess lotion is made in the USA, the Sun Goddess company is based in sunny California(which made me think, they HAVE to be experts when it comes to developing a tan! ha!).
The lotion is cruelty free and packed with natural ingredients! It contains Pro Vitamin B5, Vitamin E, Aloe Leaf Juice, Shea Butter, Carrot Seed oil, which makes it really good for your skin because it keeps it hydrated (whilst other self tanning lotions tend to dry out your skin!)and it actually nourishes your skin!

The formula itself is pretty liquid and the lotion is very dark.
It absorbs very quickly into your skin so you have to work fast when applying it and make sure to distribute it evenly!
It does have a very pleasant, sweet scent (it reminds me of a chocolate! yum!); after a couple of hours you will notice a slight funky scent of self tanning products (characteristic to most self tanning products), but it won't be too strong or overwhelming!

Before you apply the product, make sure to prepare your skin by doing a scrub and other things (watch my video to see how I prepare my skin for self tanning, to get the best possible results!):

or you can read a related blog post HERE!

This lotion will give you an instant intense colour, you won't have to wait for it to develop within a few hours, but you will actually see the colour developing in a matter of minutes, apon the application!

Don't worry, because once you applied it, it won't transfer onto your clothes or stain your towels the next day when you're taking a shower! I however recommend not using white, or very pale coloured clothes, immediately after the application (just to be on the safe side!)

Always wear the gloves (that you'll receive with the lotion) when applying the product, because you don't want to stain the palms of your hands!
The colour develops so fast, it might be too late to try to wash it off afterwards! ooops!

Remember, this product doesn't contain UV protection, so if you're going to have sun exposure, make sure to apply your sunscreen! You look like you have a tan, but your skin is actually very prone to getting sun burned!

How I Prepare My Skin for Self Tanning (Sun Goddess Preview)

Hello beauties!

As we're heading into Spring, I started thinking about the warmer weather & self tanning!
I usually like to self tan before summer, before going to the beach. I don't like to go to the tanning beds because this can cause premature aging, so in order to have a little bit of a tan going on, when I hit the beach, I always reach for a self tanner!

This year, I'll be using the Sun Goddess sunless tanning lotion, and I'm so excited to try it out as I've hear so many positive reviews on it!

This lotion is made in the USA and it's cruelty free,
it contains a wonderful blend of natural ingredients
that protect and moisturize your skin!

I'm thinking about trying this product out really soon, as I want to do a proper review on it (+ there will be a giveaway too, here on my blog & youtube channel, so check back for that!)

This post is just a quick preview of Sun Goddess self tanner, as in this post I actually want to explain to you guys, all the steps I do to prep my skin for self tanning!
I feel these steps are essential to developing a nice, even tan, so I hope this will help you out in case you're about to self tan for the very first time, or in case you had some bad self tanning experiences in the past!

How I Prepare My Skin for Self Tanning?

(check out my video for more tips!)

I remove all the unwanted hair on my body, with Veet stripes and Gilette razor.
These work perfectly fine for me!

Before self tanning, make sure to do a complete body and face scrub.
This will remove all the dead skin and ensure that your tan develops evenly!
I like to scrub my body while showering, with Avon Naturals Vanilla Moisturising Body Scrub.
(smells heavenly!!!)
For my face, I chose the Caudalie Gentle Buffing Cream for sensitive skin.

These body & face brushes can be very handy, as they'll help you out when doing a scrub to your body/face + they'll help in getting the blood circulation going!

These are great as anti-cellulite treatments too!

Avon body brush
Sephora face brush
Drugstore brush kit

Now I'm ready for self tanning!
Always make sure to use gloves (these came with the lotion, in the pink little bag), or wash your hands afterwards, to avoid getting weird tan lines between your fingers!

I'm really looking forward to telling you guys more about this tanning lotion!
In the meanwhile, you can check out Sun Goddess here!

It's made in the sunny California, it has to be good! I feel like they're the tanning experts, lol! ♥

Thanks Sun Goddess for giving me a chance to safely tan :)

Kisss from Italy,

xoxo, S.
