Health Conscious Recipes That Show Flavor Can Still Be Your Friend


There are plenty of healthy food recipes that can be found online. Whether you are a health conscious person, trying to recover from a disease, building muscle or trying to lose weight, a good recipe will always come to your help. There are some tested ways to achieve your health goals with different diet plans and foods made from quality ingredients. Here are examples of such recipes:


Breakfasts

BLUEBERRY LEMON QUINOA BREAKFAST




Ingredients: 1/2 zested lemon; 1 cup quinoa; 2 cups of low-fat milk; 1 pinch salt; 1 cup of blueberries; 2 teaspoons of flax seeds; 3 tablespoons of maple syrup;

Preparation: The quinoa is rinsed with a strainer under cold water until the water is clear. The milk is heated on medium until warm. The quinoa and salt are stirred in the milk. The mix is simmered until the liquid is absorbed. After taking the saucepan away from the heat, maple syrup and lemon zest are added. Blueberries are sprinkled over it. Each bowl is topped off with flax seed and ready to eat.



FRUIT SALAD



Ingredients: 2/3 cups of orange juice; 2 cups of sliced strawberries; 1/3 cups of lemon juice; 3 sliced kiwis; 1/3 cups of brown sugar; 3 sliced bananas; 1/2 teaspoon of orange zest; 2 peeled oranges; 1/2 teaspoons of grated lemon zest; 1 cup of seedless grapes; 1 teaspoon vanilla; 2 cups of blueberries; 2 cups of cubed pineapple;

Preparation: The orange juice, brown sugar, lemon juice, orange zest and lemon zest boil over medium heat and simmer until they thicken. When removed from the pan, the vanilla extract is added. Layer the fruits in a large bowl. The cooled sauce is poured over the fruits, and the whole salad is cooled before serving.

Lunch

BLACK BEAN AND CHICKPEA CHILI



Ingredients: 1 1/2 teaspoon olive oil; 1 teaspoon grounded black pepper; 1 pound ground turkey (optional); 2 can of canned tomatoes with juice; 1 chopped onion; 1 cup corn; 2 green bell peppers; 1 can blc beans; 5 crrots; 1 can garbanzo beans; 1 tablespoon chilli; 1 1/2 cups broth; 1 1/2 teaspoons cumin;

Preparation: If having the turkey, heat the turkey in a saucepan with oil for 10 minutes. When the meat is no longer pink, remove the turkey and leave the oil in the pan. Put the onion, green peppers, and carrots in the saucepan and stir them inside for 10 minutes. Put in the cumin, black pepper, diced tomatoes, corn, beans, garbanzo beans and broth. Boil the concoction. Place a cup and half of the chili mixture in a food processer for 1 minute until it is smooth. Pour it back in the pan and leave until it is thick. Add the turkey and bring the pan to simmer on medium-low.

Dinner

SALMON CAKES




Ingredients: 2 strips of bacon; 1/4 cups chopped onion; 1 egg; 1/2 cup mayonnaise; 2 teaspoons mustard; 1/2 teaspoon sugar; 1/2 zested lemon; 1 can of wild salmon; 1 baked russet potato (peeled and fluffed); 1/4 cup bread crumbs; 2 tablespoons parmesan; ground black pepper; 1/2 cup oil;

Heat a tablespoon of bacon fat in a pan on low heat. Add onions and cook them until they soften. Mix the bacon, onion, mayonnaise, mustard, egg, sugar and lemon zest in the bowl. Add the salmon and the potato. Make the mixture into 12 patties. In a dish, mix the bread crumbs, parmesan and pepper. Coat the patties in this mixture. Heat 1/4 cup of the oil in a large pan on medium heat, and cook the patties until they are golden. Add more oil, if necessary, during the cooking.

My Summer Diet | Sonia VerardoStyle

Hi guys!

A lot of you asked me to share with you my summer diet and some tips on how I stay in shape...

1.) I try to maintain my daily workout routine, which is actually quite simple and nothing special to brag about: I excercise cca 30 min. 3-4 times a week, on my home stepper.

2.) Regarding my diet, I don't stick to any particular diet, but I try to stay away from greasy, fried and unhealthy food.
I eat whatever I like (and luckily I don't ever crave fast food!), but I never overeat! 
When I eat my main meal, I always leave room for a dessert, and after that dessert, I still never feel so full that I can't move or breathe. I guess that's my secret: Be moderate!

In my "Summer Diet" video, I'm sharing with you my grocery haul, so you guys can take a look at what my summer diet pretty much consists of!

Food & Health: Weekly Grocery Haul & How to Stop Bad Cravings!

Hello girls!

My today's video is a grocery haul, where I'm also trying to give you some useful tips & advices on how to eat healthier & how to stop bad food cravings!

After the holiday season, we all need to "get back on track", and  eat more fruits and vegetables, avoiding completely the junk food & greasy, fried food.

Hopefully my grocery shopping will inspire you :)

I always try to eat healthy, but always try to vary my diet too. 
I think eating in moderation is a key to healthy & balanced lifestyle!

Italy is known for it's fine cuisine & lots of delicacy!
I truly love the food over here! :)

I'm croatian, and I lived in the UK for a while too, but I can honestly say, only in Italy have I found the food paradise :)

Here are some of the things I often eat:

Apples, bananas and chestnut jam...one of my favourite healthy afternoon snacks!

"Cestino di frutta", italian cake with red berries...
...to satisfy my "sweet tooth"...
